Always clean and lots of places you can go to be alone and to just hang out and drug free for those who don't like drugs
Great place to kayak, hike, bike, and explore nature. The lake is drained now.
I hope the closure for '18 is for some renovation. The campground nice. I loved the lack of lights polluting the night sky. The sites are close together. The shower house is the biggest need for renovation. The knob for water must be pulled and held for water, making rinsing/washing one handed difficult. Would have also loved some sort of information or visitor center that talks about geodes and maybe some examples and history.
I've been going to Lake Geode for 30 years. Great place to swim, go canoeing or kayaking, and hiking. They recently drained the lake (fall 2017) and will dredge the bottom in order to remove decades of silt buildup. Hopefully when it refills it will resolve the algae problem and bring this wonderful lake back to its former splendor.
Pretty good place with some nice usage areas. But they just drained the lake.
